2008-W Silver Eagles Gone, Uncirculated Dollar Sets Left

Single 2008-dated silver American Eagles with the "W" mintmark have disappeared from the United States Mint’s online store. The proof version sold out many months ago. Its uncirculated sister joined it on Friday.
All hope is not lost for collectors still looking to buy one of the coins directly from the Mint, however. The 2008 Mint Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set is still for sale, which includes the eagle plus the Sacagawea Dollar and the four Presidential $1 Coins for $37.95.
The most recent Mint silver coin sales stats surprisingly revealed that not a single American Eagle Silver Dollar was sold during the previous week, although they were still listed on the Mint’s Web site. It is unclear why. It could perhaps be a simple accounting error, or possibly an indication the Mint turned off sales earlier than what their web site indicated.
Here is a partial table of those stats with the silver eagles:

Some collectors may see the differences as a potential opportunity, and turn their attention toward the set, or buy an uncirculated eagle from the secondary market.
The later will cost more than the Mint’s original price of $25.95. Although current eBay auctions still show several for under $30.
