The 2012-P Denal 5 Ounce Silver Coin sold out Tuesday

Since the U.S. Mint recently pulled two others in the series, weekly sales were higher for the group compared to the prior report.

The U.S. Mint released the Denali silver coin on November 5, 2012 and called its sell out on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. Sales as of Monday showed 721 sold over the previous seven days. In the last report, collectors picked up 397. The latest to-date total came to 14,552, which is the lowest in the series, but that number is expected to change a little.

Sales of Acadia’s silver coin, which sold out on February 20, 2013, added 262 to its total, making its stop at 14,978. No adjustments have been reported for the Hawaii silver coin for some time, the first 2012-P strike to achieve a sell-out status in January, and so its mintage remains at 14,863.

Leading weekly sales in the silver category were the 2013-W Proof American Silver Eagles with a gain of 9,238, and then the 2013 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set that rose by 3,064. The third leading silver numismatic product was the 2012 Uncirculated Silver Eagles, having an increase of 1,240.

  1. William says:

It seems the Mint has lowered the mintages of the 2012-P ATB coins by about half. The El Yunque is on backorder, leaving the Chaco Culture the only 5oz ATB coin available. But for how long?

Plus the 2013-P ATB coins are on hold or “to be determined”. I have a feeling the Mint is going to dump the 5oz ATB coin.

That would be very disappointing if they did.
