2013 Fort McHenry 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins Sell Out

Earlier this week, on Tuesday, Nov. 19, United States Mint distributors ordered the last of the 2013 Fort McHenry 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins. The daily increase of 300 lifted sales to 30,000.

It is the second of this year’s America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins to sell out even though it was the fourth launched, on Aug. 23, 2013. The first sellout from the bullion series happened in September with the coin honoring White Mountain. It had a larger mintage of 35,000, like the newest Mount Rushmore silver bullion coin. The three ATB bullion coins in between are capped at 30,000. Two of this year’s remaining coins are near selling out with the third more than 3,000 away. In numismatic silver product sales, the debuting 2013 Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set jumped out of the gate since its release on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013. Not only did it outshine other numismatic silver products, demand for it was twice the level as last year’s set when it went on sale.
Orders hit 9,636 for the new set by Sunday, Nov. 17. When the 2012 Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set debuted in September 2012, the inaugural number had only reached 4,941.
In other US Mint sales, customers went for 7,213 of the 2013 Silver Proof Set and 5,359 of the 2013-W Proof Silver Eagle. The proof Silver Eagles sold out early last week with the most recent total after adjustments coming to 868,204.
One product whose weekly sales exploded was the 2013 Congratulations Set. At this time, the set is the only way to obtain a 2013-W Proof Silver Eagle directly from the US Mint. Sales jumped by 4,669 to hit 9,602 after garnering 73 in the prior report.
