2013 Silver Proof Set Orders Rolling, Two Silver Products Sell Out

Sales for the 2013 Silver Proof Set rolled in at 166,710 as of Monday, May 6, following its Thursday, May 2, launch according to data in the latest US Mint sales report about silver products.

That start puts the set in line with previous editions of the annually released product. Last year’s offering debuted with 189,628 in sales but it had also been on the market longer, a full week, before the first published count. As for the other new silver product debut, the 2013 U.S. Mint Congratulations Set, orders reached 1,414 between Tuesday, April 30 and Monday, May 6. 2013 is the first year for the Congratulations Set, so it could take a while for gift givers to catch on to the idea. A 2013 American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coin is the focal point of the set.

Two Silver Products Sell Out After Prices Reduced

Since returning from its sales suspension on Thursday and at a lower price, the popular 2013 American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coin from West Point advanced by 45,882 in this round. With that gain, year to date sales came to 477,257.

The other two returning and suddenly cheaper silver products sold out — one on the day after its sales resumed and the other on Monday. On Friday, the 2012 Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set, which includes a proof 2012-W Silver Eagle, was pulled from U.S. Mint store shelves. Its sales are reported at 28,368. On Monday, sales ended for the 2012 Chaco Culture Five Ounce Uncirculated Silver Coin. The reported sales total for it is 17,146.
