On Thursday, June 12, 2014, the 2014-P Arches National Park Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin debuts from the United States Mint.
Offered on the reverse of this collector coin is a design emblematic of Arches National Park of Utah. Like other strikes in the program, the coin is composed of 5.0 ounces of 99.9% pure silver to a diameter of 3 inches. Its mintage is limited to 30,000.
Arches National Park Silver Coin Design
Designs found on America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins are identical to those of the associated America the Beautiful Quarters® Program, also from the United States Mint. This includes the obverse portrait of George Washington. John Flanagan originally designed the portrait for use on the 1932 circulating quarter-dollar. Inscriptions around the portrait include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and QUARTER DOLLAR. A ‘P’ mintmark is also seen to the right of Washington’s portrait. The mintmark indicates the coin was produced at the U.S. Mint’s facility in Philadelphia.
Shown on the reverse is the design emblematic of Arches National Park of Utah which debuted earlier in the week on Arches National Park quarters. It offers a likeness of Delicate Arch, a 65-foot freestanding natural arch found within the park, with the La Sal Mountains seen in the background. The image was designed by AIP artist Donna Weaver and executed by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Charles L. Vickers. Inscriptions include ARCHES, UTAH, 2014, and E PLURIBUS UNUM.
An edge inscription reads .999 FINE SILVER 5.0 OUNCE indicating the weight and fineness.

Pricing and Subscription Discount
Pricing of the Arches silver coin is $154.95. The five previous program releases also opened at this level. It reflects a significant reduction from the 2010-dated inaugural program releases. When first issued, those coins sold for $279.95. Since then, decreases in the silver market and more aggressive Mint positioning has led to the lower prices.
Also of note, the U.S. Mint’s Subscription Program offers buyers the chance to pre-order certain coins and products and receive a 10% discount. Subscription enrollees are shipped future program coins automatically. The five ounce series for collectors is part of the Mint’s subscription promotion for this year, bringing the price of each coin down to $139.45.
Ordering
The 2014-P Arches National Park Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin may be ordered directly from the United States Mint upon their release at noon ET on the 12th. Orders are accepted via the Mint’s website, right here, or by calling 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468). No household or ordering limits are in place.
Coins are encapsulated and presented inside a protective outer box. A United States Mint Certificate of Authenticity is also included.
Bullion Version
Similar bullion versions are also sold by the United States Mint under the America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Bullion Coin™ Program. Coins of the bullion series are nearly identical to the collector uncirculated coins but do not include a mintmark on their obverse.
In addition, bullion coins are sold through the Mint’s network of authorized purchasers for small premiums above the spot price of the silver each contains. The Arches National Park Five Ounce Bullion Coins debuted on Monday, June 9, the same day Arches quarters launched into circulation.
