2015 Unc. Silver Eagles Open at 127,872

Within four days the United States Mint sold 127,872 of the newly released 2015-W Uncirculated American Silver Eagle coins, the latest sales chart revealed.

This year’s quick start proved to be better than debuting sales of the annually released silver coin in 2014, 2013, and 2012. It was not, however, as high as 2011, when collectors clamored to buy 184,967 over a similar time period. In 2011, the uncirculated Silver Eagle was released after a two-year hiatus. The chart below shows the coins’ sales starts since 2011.

Other silver coins in the spotlight include the 2015 Homestead National Monument of America Five Ounce Silver Bullion Coin. The bullion Homestead coin sold out, according to a memo the U.S. Mint sent to its Authorized Purchasers on April 1. A total of 35,000 sold since February 17.

Their collector counterpart, with an uncirculated finish and a P mint mark on the obverse, have a sales total of 18,198 as of March 29. They launched about a month ago, on March 5, and are still available via the U.S. Mint’s website page located here, or by calling 1-800-872-6468. The Mint announced their mintage limit is 30,000.
