2016 Bullion Silver Eagle Coin Sales Start Quick

On Monday, January 11, the United States Mint began selling 2016-dated bullion American Silver Eagle coins to its network of authorized purchasers (APs). First-day sales reached 2,756,500 coins, beating the entire amount sold in December, though the 2015 supply sold out on December 15.
Sales started on Monday for the new bullion 2016 Silver Eagle coins
Sales are being, and have been, limited by the Mint due to silver planchet shortages. This week’s allotment was 4 million coins. Additional coins were purchased on Tuesday and Wednesday, which took up 88% of the weekly supply and left 500,000 available until next Monday.
Only eight numismatic silver products were reported in the latest sales stats from the United States Mint, with the others officially listed as sold out. The best seller in the category was the 2015 Silver Proof Set, which added 2,059 orders. Its latest total bumped up to 352,450.
The first silver product for 2016 is the Shawnee National Forest Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin which is scheduled to launch on February 25.
