2016 NPS Silver Commemorative Sales Climb to 45,808

2016 National Park Service 100th Anniversary Commemorative Silver Coins remained top sellers in the numismatic silver category, according to the latest United States Mint sales stats.

Collectors ordered another 6,103 of the proof silver dollars; 2,270 more of the uncirculated silver dollars; and another 1,384 of the three-coin proof sets. NPS silver dollar sales climbed by a combined 9,757 for the week, and they now total 45,808 since their release on March 24. The proofs are outselling the uncirculated dollars by more than 3-to-1.

The 2016 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set fared decently, advancing 2,777 during the week to reach 63,055 since their release on January 11.

Bullion American Silver Eagles continue to maintain a record sales pace. Their year-to-date sales are at 15,964,000 and that is 24.2% higher than this time last year. April is starting strong with 1,121,500 coins sold. As for this week, the U.S. Mint limited Silver Eagle sales to 1,042,500 coins, which includes 42,500 coins from last week’s allocation. Through Thursday, the Mint’s bullion distributors have ordered 96.5% of them.

The table below shows the latest sales stats for collector coins and related silver products from the U.S. Mint. Sunday, April 3, is the as of date for the standard collectibles and Thursday, April 7, is the as of date for the bullion products.
