2016 Silver Eagle Weekly Sales Highest Since January

This year’s 30th anniversary proof Silver Eagle completed its third straight week at the top of the latest United States Mint sales stats, beating all other gold, silver, platinum, and clad numismatic products.

The annually issued silver coin has always been one of the Mint’s most popular products, since its inception in 1986. This time it launched late in the year, on September 16. Sales made it to 387,494 by October 2 thanks to the latest jump of 24,391.

It could, however, momentarily lose its place in the crowning spot next week with the just released 2016-P Theodore Roosevelt National Park Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin debuts.

As for bullion Silver Eagles, they enjoyed their best sales week since January. Sinking silver prices made it cheaper for the Mint’s network of authorized buyers to place orders. Weekly sales of the silver coins surged by 1,405,000 for a year to date total of 31,980,500.

The table below shows the latest sales stats for collector coins and related silver products from the U.S. Mint. Sunday, October 2, is the as of date for the standard collectibles and Friday, October 7, is the as of date for the bullion products.
