2016 Silver Proof Set Sales at 256,463

Back on top in the silver category of the latest U.S. Mint sales stats was the 2016 Silver Proof Set. Its gain of 3,825 was its highest weekly jump in the last five reports. With this recent climb, the set’s overall total advanced to 256,463.

The countdown continues for the 2016-W Proof Silver Eagle’s debut. At noon this Friday, the Mint will begin selling the collector coin on its website at catalog.usmint.gov. There are no ordering or mintage limits on this highly anticipated annual offering.

As for the bullion American Silver Eagle, sales picked up since the last report. September’s total at 950,000 is a sign that the month may end up higher than July or August, which saw sales of 1,370,000 and 1,280,000 respectively.
