Australian Lunar Year of the Horse Silver Proof Coins for 2014

Available from the Perth Mint of Australia are 2014 Year of the Horse Silver Proof Coins in four different sizes with three sold individually and one appearing right now only in a three-coin set.
Australian Lunar Series II 2014 Year of the Horse 1oz Silver Proof Coin
Each of these silvers coins for collectors bears a reverse design with two horses in a traditional Chinese landscape. The coins are composed of 99.9% pure silver and are available in very limited mintages.
This series continues an annual Lunar program from the Perth Mint emblematic of the twelve creatures found in the Chinese zodiac. They are struck as collector versions of the Perth’s popular Australian Lunar Bullion Coin Program with new 2014-dated issues also debuting this month.
The new silver coins include 1 kilo, 1 ounce and 1/2 ounce sizes that are sold individually. Of those strikes, individual mintages are limited to 500, 5,000 and 8,000, respectively. A three-coin set is also available which has the smaller 1 ounce and 1/2 ounce coins along with a 2 ounce version. Maximum mintage for the three-coin set is listed at just 1,000 units.
Designs, Specifications and Ordering Silver Coins
All four different sized silver coins contain the same basic reverse image. Inscribed below two horses is "Year of the Horse." The Chinese symbol for horse is located above. Also found on the reverse is the Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mint mark.
These coins for collectors are struck as legal tender of Australia under the Australian Currency Act of 1965. As legal tender, obverses feature a likeness of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. Inscriptions read "ELIZABETH II," AUSTRALIA," "2014" along with the face value, size and composition of each coin.

The price for the 1/2 ounce silver coin is listed as AUS $54.55 (US $50.30), the 1 ounce silver coin is selling for AUS $84.09 ($77.54) and the 1 kilo silver coin is AUS $1,450.00 ($1,337.02). The three-coin set is at a price point of AUS $309.09 ($285.01). All pricing is subject to change.
