American Eagle 2015 Silver Bullion Sales End at All-Time Record

Popularity of American Eagle silver coins hit an all-time high in 2015. Silver Eagle bullion sales ended on Tuesday, December 15, at a new annual record for the United States Mint at 47,000,000 coins. As a comparison, the previous record was set in 2014 with year-end sales totaling 44,006,000 coins.

Supply and demand issues continued for the U.S. Mint’s bullion American Silver Eagle coins as weekly rationing persisted. This time the sales limit was set to 1,000,000 and it was reached. It was the third week in a row that all of the rationed amount was taken.

2015 Silver Eagles and Proof Silver Sets Lead Sales

The weekly United States Mint sales stats show the 2015-W Proof American Silver Eagle as the leader once again in the white metal category. Sales moved up by 6,060 to 643,088. Not too far behind was the 2015 Silver Proof Set, which jumped by 4,816.
