US Mint Silver Coin Sales Slump in First Week of February

It was a down U.S. Mint week in the silver coin arena. Weekly sales for five silver products actually went negative while just one beat its prior week’s gain. Dropping the most was the 2015-W Proof American Silver Eagle Coin. Logging a decline of -3,439 meant its total slid to 300,645.
March of Dimes Special Set of 90% Silver Coins

On Friday, February 6, the United States Mint revealed the coins that will comprise the 2015 March of Dimes Silver Set, a special commemorative product that’s scheduled for release later this year and part of a group to celebrate the 75th anniversary founding of the March of Dimes Foundation.
US Marshals Service Silver Coins Storm Mint Sales

US Marshals Service 225th Anniversary Commemorative Coins dominated the latest United States Mint sales stats. Inaugural sales numbers show consumers tracked down 101,956 of the individual coins and another 9,901 of the Three-Coin Proof Sets. Of those single coins, more than half were silver dollars.

Without a new silver product appearing on the latest U.S. Mint weekly sales chart, this article may seem a little anticlimactic. In a nutshell, silver sales slowed dramatically. The three best-selling silver products included the two available Silver Eagles and last year’s Silver Proof Set.

2015 Proof Silver Eagle Coins Outpace other Silver Product Sales

2015-W Proof American Silver Eagle Coins sharply out-paced sales of all other numismatic silver products combined, U.S. Mint weekly sales charts show. In all, buyers picked up 20,275 proof Silver Eagles compared to just 4,675 in other silver products. Of course, it’s also the only 2015-dated silver collectible released so far.
