Bullion 2016 American Silver Eagle Sales Reach 17 Million

According to the latest U.S. Mint sales stats, bullion 2016 American Silver Eagles reached the 17,000,000 milestone, in record-breaking time. As a comparison to the same time last year, 2015 Silver Eagle sales had just topped the 13 million mark to land at 13,049,500.

2016 National Park Service 100th Anniversary Commemorative Silver Coins remained top sellers in the numismatic silver category, according to the latest United States Mint sales stats. Collectors ordered another 6,103 of the proof silver dollars; 2,270 more of the uncirculated silver dollars; and another 1,384 of the three-coin proof sets.

2016 NPS Silver Dollars Post One-Day Sales of 27,623

The two silver dollars commemorating the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service registered one-day sales totaling 27,623 coins, the United States Mint said on Friday. Both coins, which launched beside companion $5 gold and 50c clad editions, went on sale Thursday at 12:00 noon ET.

The U.S. Mint’s newest offering, the 2016 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set, was the brightest star in the agency’s latest round of weekly sales stats. Collectors ordered 53,791 sets between their launch on Monday, March 7 and Sunday, March 13.
US Mint Sales: Bullion American Silver Eagles at 12 Million

Sales quickened for the two most popular silver products in the U.S. Mint’s numismatic lineup, but the winner was not a new product. In this latest round of sales stats, last year’s 2015 Silver Proof Set topped the others by advancing 3,437 to 364,948. Surprisingly, it outpaced both commemorative 2016 Mark Twain Silver Dollars combined.
