Bullion 2017 American Silver Eagles Top 3.7M in Start

On Monday, January 9, the United States Mint kicked off the new year by releasing its investor quality 2017-dated bullion American Silver Eagles to its network of authorized purchasers (APs). Orders poured in.
First-day sales of bullion 2017 American Silver Eagles topped last year’s coin opening.
APs scooped up 3,747,500 coins the first day versus 2,756,500 coins on the first day last year, which was a 36% increase. It also beat the monthly totals of six different months in 2016. That tally remained unchanged from Tuesday to Friday.
On the numismatic side, the weekly winner between the nine silver products still available was the 2016-W Uncirculated American Silver Eagle with 3,184 orders. The 2016 Silver Proof Set and 2016-W Proof Silver Eagle nearly tied again with the former edging out the latter by 1,379 to 1,204.
The first 2017 collector silver products are going to be the commemorative Lions Clubs International Centennial Silver Dollars. They are set to launch on January18.
