Available now from the Royal Canadian Mint is the 2013 $20 Iceberg Commemorative Silver Coin. This strike is issued as the third 2013-dated release from the Mint’s extremely popular "Exchange $20 for $20" program.
Coins under the program are composed of 99.99% pure silver and are sold to the public at their legal tender face value of $20. Mintage of the Iceberg Silver Coin is limited to 225,000, which is 25,000 less than prior releases.
The decreased mintage could intensify demand. Since the series of silver coins debuted, all have attained a sell-out status with some claiming that distinction within days of release. But then again, earlier releases were supported by higher silver prices.
The program debuted in 2011 and has featured a total of nine silver coins including this newest one. A complete listing of the "Exchange $20 for $20" coins is offered below along with mintages and release dates.
