The Royal Canadian Mint launches the tenth product in its extremely popular "Exchange $20 for $20" program, the 2013 $20 Santa Commemorative Silver Coin. Like other silver coins in the series, each is available at face value while the mintage lasts.
These coins are struck from 99.99% pure silver with a total weight of 7.96 grams. Shown on the reverse of the new release is a design of Santa, making it an ideal gift in time for the holidays and an appealing addition for silver coin collections.
Maximum mintage for the strike is listed as 225,000. This is same mintage used for the previous "Exchange $20 for $20" release. All coins in the series have sold-out, and some within days of their release.

Santa Silver Coin Designs and Specifications
As mentioned, each Santa Silver Coin is struck from 7.96 grams of 99.99% pure silver. For reference, this equates to slightly more than a quarter ounce of the precious metal.
The diameter of the "Exchange $20 for $20" coins is 27 mm. Each is struck to specimen quality and ships in a protective sleeve attached to an illustrated card.
Jesse Koreck designed the image on the reverse. The Santa coin shows the legendary figure with a wrapped gift in one arm and a sack full of others hoisted over his shoulder. Inscriptions surrounding the design include "20 DOLLARS", "ARGENT PUR FINE SILVER 9999", "CANADA" and "2013." Koreck’s initials also appear on the design.
The obverse contains Susanna Blunt’s effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Obverse inscriptions are "ELIZABETH II" and "D.G. REGINA."
