2016 American Silver Eagle Sales Soar in January, Scoring 4th Best Month

Sales of the United States Mint’s best-selling product, the bullion American Silver Eagle, surged to 5,954,500 in January. This milestone marks the highest monthly sales since January 2013 when a record 7,498,000 sold, and it makes January 2016 the 4th top-selling month in the Silver Eagle’s history which started in 1986.

Silver Eagle bullion sales ended on Tuesday, December 15, at a new annual record for the United States Mint at 47,000,000 coins. As a comparison, the previous record was set in 2014 with year-end sales totaling 44,006,000 coins.
