2012-W Proof American Silver Eagle coins hit the 800,000 sales milestone as collectors enthusiastically ordered another 23,302, based on the latest round of U.S. Mint weekly sales stats. The new total landed at 819,217 on November 5, 2012 and is now only 30,783 away from the number of individually sold silver coins in 2011.

The latest weekly U.S. Mint sales stats revealed 2012-W Proof Silver Eagle coin orders spiked despite their suspension on Wednesday, October 3. Between Monday, October 1, and Monday, October 8, collectors raced to buy 20,359 proof Silver Eagle coins after picking up 12,133 during the final week of September.
