On Monday, February 6, the United States Mint began selling the 2017 Effigy Mounds National Monument 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coin to its network of authorized purchasers. First-day sales reached 7,500 coins, and by the end of the week, the Mint had sold 17,700 of them.

Beating all numismatic products in the latest round of the United States Mint’s sales stats were the debuting commemorative 2017 Lions Clubs International Centennial Silver Dollars. Released on January 18, their first-day numbers totaled 19,244 for the proof and 5,926 for the uncirculated for a combined 25,170.
