Collector Silver Coins Mixed, Bullion Eagles Top 23.4 Million

Breaking a recent October "up or down only" trend but returning to a more normalized pattern in general, the latest US Mint sales stats show mixing with fluctuating demand based on the type of collector silver coins. As for investor minted American Silver Eagle bullion coins, they have enjoyed stronger demand during the last seven days.
Getting back to coins for collectors, Braille Silver Dollars improved over last week’s report, with the exception of the newer Braille Education Set which advanced 793 compared to the prior 1,004. The Mint announced this week that it will offer the coins only until Dec. 11 at 5:00 p.m. ET. A total of 202,655 of the authorized 400,000 have been sold, indicating a sellout is less than likely.
Demand for all of the remaining US Mint silver coin products declined slightly last week. The 2009 Silver Proof Set was the biggest unit gainer with 7,455 additional sold. But that was down from the prior 8,982. A healthy 548,802 have been purchased this year.
Despite that bullion American Silver Eagles are still showing a zero in the column for November sales, there was a total gain of 699,000 during the last seven days. Close out figures for last month proved to be huge for the series, with eagles hitting 2.9 million in sales, and recording their best October ever. 23,406,500 is the latest year-to-date total.
The following two tables have the latest US Mint stats for collector silver coins and sets and bullion silver eagles.
