Silver coins are pulling in more buyers, based on fresh sales data from the United States Mint. 22 silver products experienced higher weekly sales as compared to the last one, and the top three surged by amounts exceeding 10,000.
In particular, U.S. Mint sales reflect greater demand for the 2012-W Proof Silver Eagle and the San Francisco American Silver Eagle Two-Coin Set. Their weekly numbers rallied by 18,696 and 27,113, respectively. In the last report, collectors took in just 5,469 Eagles while the two-coin sets rose 14,164.
With these latest increases, the 2012-W Proof Silver Eagle reached 456,451 since its debut on April 12, 2012 and orders for the San Francisco American Silver Eagle Two-Coin Set hit 162,581 since its release on June 7, 2012. The two-coin set’s cumulative total, it should be noted, is current as of Wednesday, June 27. The set will only be available for one more week with an ordering deadline of Thursday, July 5.
Another big jump was seen for the 2012 Silver Proof Set with sales now at 218,675. It propelled 15,021 in this round versus the prior 14,026.
Once again, the Infantry Soldier Silver Dollar Defenders of Freedom Set fell backwards. In the time since May 14, the set’s total increased only twice and dropped the other five times, counting the -341 in this round. The new total is 43,355, or 6,986 from hitting its maximum of 50,000.
In bullion silver news, the 2012 Chaco Culture National Historical Park 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coin was added to the sales table below with 3,200 orders. Also, Silver Eagle bullion coins advanced 893,000 and are now at 2,593,000 for June and 17,127,000 for the year.
