Fort Moultrie 5 Ounce Silver Coin Logs Starting Sales of 14,582

A debuting coin, a sales milestone, and sold out coin share the spotlight in the latest U.S. Mint sales report.

Starting with the newest release, the collector quality 2016-P Fort Moultrie Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin launched on Thursday, December 8 and accumulated 14,582 in sales by Sunday. (Read about the coin’s release.) Overall, it was the fourth bestseller for the week and the third best among the silver competitors.
The product that outsold all of the others was the 2016-W Uncirculated American Silver Eagle with 23,195 orders. That’s not bad for its first full week on the market. Its latest total sales number is 158,120.
Not far behind was the 2016-W Proof Silver Eagle with 18,754 sales in this latest round and with that, it crossed the 500,000 milestone. The total sold is now 510,009.
As for that sold out coin, the 2016-P Theodore Roosevelt National Park Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin is no longer available from the U.S. Mint, so shoppers will have to look to the secondary market if they still want one. Its last reported sales number was 18,917.
There is still time to order coin gifts. The U.S. Mint at catalog.usmint.gov has a dedicated page for gift ideas and is offering a holiday discount of $10 off their Expedited Shipping Fee, which is normally $17.95 and takes 2-3 days for delivery.
The table below shows the latest sales stats for collector coins and related silver products from the U.S. Mint. Sunday, December 11, is the as of date for the standard collectibles and Thursday, December 15, is the as of date for the bullion products. 2017 bullion Silver Eagles will go on sale January 9.
