Introductory prices for the 2015 March of Dimes Silver Dollars will conclude on Monday, April 13, at 3:00 PM ET.
Available in proof and uncirculated collector qualities, the commemorative silver coins move $5 higher to regular prices of $51.95 and $48.95 from their introductory pricing of $46.95 and $43.95.
Released on March 13, 2015, the two silver dollars quickly tallied first-day sales of 24,376. Their total through the first three full weeks of sales reached 54,283, with splits of 37,721 for the proof and 16,562 for the uncirculated. That’s 10.9% of their authorized maximum mintage of 500,000.
Look for a large increase in proof numbers beginning on May 5. That’s when the 2015 March of Dimes Special Silver Set goes on sale. It includes the proof dollar and two never-before struck Roosevelt dimes — a reverse proof from Philadelphia and a proof from West Point. These silver dimes are a first for the U.S. Mint and they will not be available individually or in any other set.
