March of Dimes Unc. Silver Dollar Sales Spike

A few other silver products benefited with the March of Dimes Special Silver Set receiving extra attention since its release last week. Both individual proof and uncirculated March of Dimes Silver Dollars attained higher sales, per the latest United States Mint sales stats.

The proof silver dollar jumped by 1,856 to 45,834 versus its gain of 1,104 in the previous round, and the uncirculated dollar sales suddenly erupted by 1,174 to 20,980 after adding 372 previously.

As for silver sets, it was the 2014 Limited Edition Silver Proof Set that outperformed all of the others, besides the March of Dimes Special Set of course. Its weekly gain was 1,977. Another item, not far behind, was the 2015 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set with 1,814 orders.

As for the March of Dimes Set, there has not been an update since the U.S. Mint said this on Wednesday:

"The updated sales figures for (DM5) 2015 March of Dimes Special Silver Set is 74,664 units. We are in the process of reconciling our inventory with the orders we have received. As indicated yesterday, the product is still currently unavailable."

Next week’s sales report will be dominated by the 2015 Silver Proof Set from the San Francisco facility that launched on Thursday for $53.95. Opening sales numbers for last year’s set was 183,520 and sales for this year’s set is expected to do the same.
