Older Proof Silver Eagles Win More Sales, New Bullion Out for Week

Just like the previous report, last year’s 2014-W Proof American Silver Eagle was the weekly sales winner among United States Mint silver products. Moreover, it makes it the third time this month that the 2014-dated Eagle outpaced this year’s coin.

The older coins spiked 13,842, despite having gained 14,774 in the prior round. Presently, their cumulative total is 835,839. As a comparison, the 2015 Silver Eagles added 2,732 to their total, which now comes to 517,504.

In related news, the United States Mint placed its weekly allocation level for bullion 2015 American Silver Eagles at 812,500. Those were snapped up by Tuesday. Despite their weekly sales restrictions, the coins are on a record annual pace with sales for the year so far at 31,495,000 coins.

Returning to collectibles… As far as sets go, the 2015 Silver Proof Set jumped by 2,896 to make it the second fastest weekly mover. To date, collectors have purchased 250,686 of the sets. They have been on the market since May 14.
