Sales of 2013 American Silver Eagle Coins Dominate Mint Products

As of May 16, or one week after their sales started, collectors had ordered 193,652 of the 2013 American Silver Eagle West Point Two-Coin Sets. It is the strongest numismatic product for the US Mint right now.

That pace is quicker than last year’s American Silver Eagle Two-Coin Set from San Francisco which garnered 128,540 in nearly the same time frame. It ended with 251,302 orders in four weeks. The burning question is how high sales will go for the 2012 set before ordering ends on June 6. One-day sales opened at 149,622. From there, daily increases so far have been 33,151; 4,768; 4,185; and 1,926. Sales will move higher again as the 6th approaches.

Other notables in the U.S. Mint sales stats below, include the 500,000 milestone that the individually-sold 2013-W American Silver Eagle Proof Coin hit and the impressive jump the 2013 Silver Proof Sets achieved during their first full week of availability.

The individual American Silver Eagle Proof Coins were the second best weekly sellers for the US Mint. Their total advanced by 38,827 and now sits at 516,084. They were closely followed by 2013 Silver Proof Sets that picked up 32,765 more orders. This latest count shows that the sets are only 525 orders from breaking the 200,000 threshold, since their new total comes to 199,475.
