Sales of 2013-W Proof Silver Eagle Coins Light Up

Without a new numismatic silver product to entice collectors, focus returned to 2013-W Proof Silver Eagle Coins. Sales ignited for them, up a remarkable 25,605 in a single week, per the latest U.S. Mint sales stats.

Weekly sales of the 2013-W Proof Silver Eagle Coin were higher than any other week since it debuted

The silver coins in the last report advanced just 3,862. The latest increase, in fact, was the highest since they debuted on January 24, 2013. When the year’s overall sales total is calculated, the proof Silver Eagle coin easily passed the 400K marker by landing at 405,207.

One week old 2013 5-Star Generals Commemorative Coins were next in silver coin collectors’ sights. Like the previous report, silver dollar sales experienced the fastest pace compared to the others, with the proof silver version advancing by 9,863 and the uncirculated by 4,025.

Also in the top seller mix for the week were the proof 2013 Girl Scouts of the USA Centennial Silver Dollars. Their sales total jumped by 5,865 to ring in at 64,611. The uncirculated Girl Scout strikes gained 2,308 and arrived at 25,674. Combined, their cumulative sales are at 90,285 out of a maximum mintage of 350,000 across all product options, or 25%.
