2011-P Chickasaw America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin

It has been one month since the United States Mint updated the number of America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coin sales through its network of Authorized Purchasers (AP’s), meaning none have apparently sold since early April. The collector uncirculated versions, on the other hand, have been selling at a fairly steady pace directly to the public — although not like when they were first introduced.

2,703 of the collector grade America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins sold between April 2 and April 30. In the latest weekly round of U.S. Mint sales figures, another 343 sold. Chickasaw 5 Ounce Silver Coins were the best seller of the five with an advance of 90.

When the 2012-dated bullion and 2012-dated uncirculated America the Beautiful Silver Coins will be released has yet to be announced by the U.S. Mint.

The top numismatic selling silver product of the week was the 2012 Proof Silver Eagle. Collectors took in 13,888, which was slightly lower than the 14,242 purchased in the previous round. The next most popular item was the 2012 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set. It increased by 1,391, but again that was less than the 1,802 that collectors scooped up last time.

Weekly sales of bullion American Silver Eagles were one of the few to improve. AP’s ordered 360,000 during the past seven days. They had purchased 240,000 in the prior week. Still, both weekly amounts are small compared to those of a few months ago. This latest jump did place annual Eagle sales over the 12 million marker, at just 12,019,000.

One Response to “Sales of America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Coins Fairly Steady”
  1. Chuck says:

You do realize that at this “fairly steady” pace (77/week) the Gettysburg 5 oz UNC ATB won’t sell out for another 43 months. That works out to 3.6 years or 2015/2016. And that’s the SOONEST any of the 2011’s will vanish from the Mint’s dusty shelves.
