The first two coin related bills introduced in 2009 and the 111th Congress would commemorate the anniversaries of NASA and the Girl Scouts USA with hundreds of thousands silver coins in the year 2011.

President Bush on Tuesday signed into law H.R.6184, America’s Beautiful National Parks Quarter Dollar Coin Act of 2008. The law mandates a new quarter series and, interestingly, 5-ounce silver coins.
Bush Signs off on Commemorative Civil Rights and U.S. Army Coins

President Bush signed two pieces of legislation this week authorizing gold, silver and clad coins. One of the bills authorizes a silver dollar to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act. The other celebrates the 1775 establishment of United States Army with $5 gold, $1 silver and 50-cent coins.
