Uncirculated Silver Eagles in the Lead

Taking the sales lead among all United States Mint numismatic products was the 2014-W Uncirculated American Silver Eagle, the latest stats from the bureau show.

Its sales hit 196,517 when collectors ordered 6,699 of the one ounce .999 fine silver coins since the previous week. No other product’s weekly sales came close to the Silver Eagle. The Mint’s second best seller was the clad 2014 Proof Set, which advanced 3,836.
Demand for other collectible silver products has slowly dwindled these past few weeks, even as sales of bullion silver coins have surged. The latest numbers were hit harder with the Mint closing product ordering last Saturday as it transitioned to a new website that went live on Wednesday. The 2014 Silver Proof Set advanced 2,081 to 307,308 in the latest round compared to 2,654 previously. And the 2014-W Proof Silver Eagle gained 1,440 to 680,987 versus its previous increase of 3,464.
