United States Mint Silver Coin Sales Slow

Without a new silver product appearing on the latest U.S. Mint weekly sales chart, this article may seem a little anticlimactic. In a nutshell, silver sales slowed dramatically. The three best-selling silver products included the two available Silver Eagles and last year’s Silver Proof Set.

The leader was the 2015-W Proof American Silver Eagle Coin, of course. Orders totaled 3,861 during its third full week on the market, but that number pales in comparison to the prior report when orders mounted up to 20,275. Nonetheless, its overall sales climbed to 288,486.

In second place, not far behind, were sales of the older 2014-W Proof American Silver Eagle Coin. Consumers bought 2,913 more. It is not known how much longer these will be available. After all, 753,004 have sold since the Mint began selling them on January 23, 2014.

Rounding out the top three was the 2014 Silver Proof Set. Its sales rose by 1,231 this time, and that number is only a little slower than before. Over the last three weeks, the set’s weekly selling average has been 1,547. It now has a total of 405,896.
