US Mint Free Shipping Promotion Ending

Less than a day remains before the United States Mint’s free shipping promotion ends two months after it started.
Set to expire on September 30, 2013 at 5 p.m. Eastern Time, the promotion not only waves the normal $4.95 fee for standard shipping but it also reduces the cost of expedited shipping by $4.95 to $12.95.
These special savings debuted in late July, although the promotion does not apply to international shipments, including those to Canada, and they are only good for website orders.
At the time of its announcement, the US Mint said the promotion was designed to encourage customers to order coins and related products online and that it was possible it may "recur in the future." The Mint also noted that the promotion window provided an ideal opportunity for customers to try out its August launch of new shopping cart web pages.
To take advantage of the promotion, visit www.usmint.gov/catalog, add a coin or coins to the shopping cart, and conclude your online purchase before the 5 p.m. deadline.
Next Silver Coins, Release Date Change
In other developments, it looks like collectors will have to wait until November for the next silver coins from the United States Mint. November 7 marks the debut of uncirculated Mount Rushmore America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Coins.
The Mint had scheduled the release of the 2013 United States Mint Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set for earlier this month but its launch date changed to Nov. 14, 2013. This set contains the four 2013 Presidential $1 Coins, the 2013 Native American $1 Coin and the 2013 Uncirculated American Eagle Silver Coin.
There were no new silver coins released by the US Mint this month. The last silver product to launch was the uncirculated Fort McHenry America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Coin on Aug. 29, 2013.
