US Mint Sales: 2012 Limited Edition Silver Proof Set Sells Out

United States Mint sales of the 2012 Limited Edition Silver Proof Set ended Wednesday, April 24, 2013, according to the "Sold Out" status listed on the set’s product page.

The sellout was expected, given collectors’ steady demand for it and the fact that it did not experience the same temporary sales suspension for re-pricing as the 2013-W American Eagle Proof Silver Coin.

This eight-coin silver proof set, which included a one ounce American Eagle Proof Silver Coin, debuted on November 27, 2012. By Monday, April 22, 2013, only 45 of the limited 50,000 sets remained. Now, those who may want this set will have to search the secondary market to find it.

The U.S. Mint also called a sell out on the 2013 5-Star Generals Three-Coin Proof Set. Their sales went over the published product limit of 10,000 as seen in the weekly sales report below. 10,120 were reportedly purchased, with 360 of those orders occurring most recently. A proof $5 gold coin, a proof silver dollar and a proof clad half-dollar make up the popular commemorative set.

As for the 2012-P Chaco Culture ATB Five Ounce Uncirculated Silver Coin and the 2012 US Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set, their totals dropped while they have been suspended. The Chaco silver coin lost 2, but the Uncirculated Dollar Set fell by -110.
