US Mint Sales: Silver Coin Products in Demand

The United States Mint welcomed a newcomer to their America the Beautiful product portfolio. The five ounce 2010 America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins began with debut sales of 75,000 from Authorized Purchasers. That is 375,000 ounces of silver in a single day on their launch Friday.
As for the other US Mint bullion product, demand for Silver Eagle bullion coins picked up compared to the first week of December. The .999 fine bullion Silver Eagles advanced 1,005,000 in the last seven days, which totals 1,422,000 in the first half of December. Annual sales rolled in at 34,312,500.
Turning to US Mint collector products, demand for 2010 Proof Silver Eagles also remained high. The Mint sold 89,109 in this round, which brought the total to 796,813. In the last report, the 2010 proof silver Eagle coin reached the ninth highest selling year, but it has since moved into seventh place in the entire series.
The total for the 2010 Silver Proof Set grew another 11,475 to 488,474. It appears to be one week away from passing the 500,000 marker. The America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set advanced 4,801.
And finally, the 2010 Disabled American Veterans Silver Dollars experienced an invigorating 4,072 combined gain during their final days. The Mint cut-off orders on Monday, December 13. Proof dollars advanced an even 2,500 and the uncirculated climbed by 1,572. The new DAV combined total topped 266,850.
