US Mint Silver Coin Sales for Week Ended Aug. 12

Among the movers and shakers in the latest United States Mint sales stats were the 2016 Silver Proof Set and the 2016 Proof National Park Service Silver Dollar.
Sales of the 2016-P Proof NPS Silver Dollar topped 49,000.
The Silver Proof Set posted a gain of 3,105 so its total bumped up to 242,172. The next nearest competitor in the silver category, the 2016 Proof NPS Silver Dollar, added 637 to its total, which is now 49,211.
On Monday, sales of the bullion American Silver Eagle doubled its prior week’s sales. Authorized bullion distributors ordered 150,000 of the coins compared to just 75,000 last week. They took another 100,000 on Friday. The coin’s year-to-date total advanced to 27,945,500 but it is trailing the record sales pace set in 2015 by about 1.7 million during the same time frame.
The table below shows the latest sales stats for collector coins and related silver products from the U.S. Mint. Sunday, August 7, is the as of date for the standard collectibles and Friday, August 12, is the as of date for the bullion products.
