US Mint Silver Coin Sales Stats for December, Week 1

The Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set and Mint Silver Proof Set experienced a 4.3 percent and 2.6 percent increase in sales, according to the latest silver coin sales stats released by the U.S. Mint during the first week of December. In sheer unit numbers, proof set sales increased by an impressive 15,163.

Sales of American Bald Eagle commemorative coins, which officially end on December 12, 2008 at 5:00 PM (ET), picked up nicely as well.

The 2008 U.S. Mint 50 State Quarters Silver Proof Set figures are unchanged from the previous week, which could be a Mint oversight since the coins are still for sale (the Mint releases coin sales stats on a weekly basis).
