US Mint Silver Coin Sales Stats – Jan 23

US silver coin sales have increased across the board during the last several days, according to the latest United States Mint sales stats. Not in any dramatic fashion, but noticeable nevertheless.
Unusual is the lack of any movement for the uncirculated 2008-dated American Eagle Silver Dollars. The Mint still sells these coins, so suspicion should be cast when viewing the numbers below. It would seem likely they will change and should have changed for this report.
The Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set posted a 5 percent increase, with a rise of 2,181 sets to a total of 45,773 sold. The 2008 Silver Proof Set jumped above the 700,000 barrier, increasing by 9,685.
The Mint has not yet said when 2009-dated collector bullion coins would be issued, with the exception of the scheduled commemorative silver coins and the 2009 $20 Double Eagles that went on sale Jan. 22.
