2015 Silver Proof Set Includes 14 Coins for Collectors

Collectors can soon order one of the most popular annual sets produced by the United States Mint as the 2015 Silver Proof Set launches on Thursday, May 14. The fourteen-coin set will be available beginning at noon ET for $53.95, the same price as last year’s set.
Of the fourteen proof coins, seven are composed in 90% silver. The remaining seven are in a standard clad composition similar to those found in regular circulation.
Coins within the 2015 Silver Proof Set include:
- 2015-S Presidential $1 Coin featuring a Mohawk ironworker.
- Four 2015-S Presidential $1 Coins with portraits of four former Presidents of the United States — Harry S. Truman, Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson
- 2015-S Silver Kennedy Half Dollar
- Five 2015-S Silver America the Beautiful Quarters with reverse designs emblematic of five different sites of national interest — Homestead National Monument of America in Nebraska; Kisatchie National Forest in Louisiana; Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina; Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge in Delaware; and Saratoga National Historical Park in New York
- 2015-S Silver Roosevelt Dime
- 2015-S Jefferson Nickel
- 2015-S Lincoln Cent
The half-dollar, five quarter-dollars and dime are all in 90% silver and 10% copper. In addition, the Native American $1 Coin, the four Presidential $1 coins and the five America the Beautiful Quarters showcase designs only featured on 2015-dated coins.
Set Packaging
Coins of the set are in three different protective lenses. One lens holds the four Presidential dollars, one lens has the five America the Beautiful Quarters and the remaining lens holds the Native American $1 coin, the Kennedy half-dollar, the Roosevelt dime, the Jefferson nickel and the Lincoln cent.
All three lenses ship inside an illustrated cardboard carton. The front of the carton has a photographic image of the Washington Monument and 2015 UNITED STATES MINT SILVER PROOF SET printed to the right. The back offers images of places and individuals honored on the coins within. There is also a certificate of authenticity inside along with the specifications of the coins.
Melt Value of Silver Coins
Combined, the seven silver coins of the set have a total silver weight of 1.34 troy ounces. Based on today’s London silver price of $16.65 an ounce, each set has an approximate melt value of $22.31. In contrast, the legal tender face value of the fourteen coins comes to $6.91.

No mintage, household or order limits apply to this product. Several hundred thousand will sell. For example, last year’s 2014 Silver Proof Set is still available and it has current sales of 420,062.
